The GlenAllachie 12 Year Old is an unpeated Speyside single malt matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, alongside red wine and virgin oak casks. Bottled at 46% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration, it reflects the distillery's wood-forward philosophy under Master Distiller Billy Walker. In 2025, it was named World's Best Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards.
Our Take
It's easy to see why this was named World's Best Single Malt in 2025. Rich, complex and incredibly well balanced, it's a whisky that rewards every sip. It can be a little harder to find than some of its competitors, but if you come across a bottle, it's well worth picking up.

Honey, sultanas, orange zest, dark chocolate and baking spices.
Nose:
Rich raisins, caramel, mocha, cinnamon and toasted oak with layers of sherry sweetness.
Palette:
Long, warming and slightly nutty with dark chocolate and spice lingering.
